Senior Accountant
A publicly-traded company whose mission is to safely build the energy and industrial base of tomorrow essential to economic prosperity is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team at the holding company office headquarters in the DC area. The Senior Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for performing the monthly close of the holding company and the financial consolidation of all of the
wholly-owned subsidiaries. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be involved in SEC reporting, SOX compliance and audit and treasury activities, among other projects as assigned.

responsibilities:
Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts, calculation and preparation of general ledger entries and preparing financial reports/support as necessary
Perform financial consolidation of all the company's subsidiaries, including identification and preparation of elimination entries
Assist in preparation of financial statements and required disclosures on Form 10-Q/K, the annual proxy, Form 8-K, earnings releases and other investor materials
Perform equity compensation administration and calculate related stock-based compensation expense amounts
Assist with internal and external auditor requests related to quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX 404 audits
Provide quarterly and annual deliverables to the tax team that support the income tax provision and other tax filing requirements
Update and maintain SOX documentation in coordination with the Corporate Controller and internal auditors
Maintain and coordinate treasury activities and functions
Prepare and distribute the monthly bank account activity file including the calculation of intercompany interest amounts
Prepare financial information for bank compliance reporting
qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA a plus
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience in either industry or public accounting
Working knowledge of GAAP
Self-starter that requires minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Merrill Bridge a plus
This company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that will include base salary ($95,000 - 105,000) and bonus target (10-15%) commensurate with experience and qualifications with award based on both personal accomplishments
and company financial performance.
