Position Summary

Research Centers in Minority Institution ( RCMI ) U54 Center for Translational Research in Health Disparities ( CTRHD ) Program Manager directs MSM’s RCMI U54 CTRHD Program. The RCMI is a large and complex project of considerable scope and complexity. It requires knowledge of the program, the associated processes and procedures, and biomedical science administration. Responsibilities include oversight of the operations and working as a strategic partner with the Project Leader (Principal Investigator), outlining, planning, and reviewing the goals and objectives of the center. The responsibilities also include planning, organizing, and managing daily operations, program policy, and procedure design and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college/university or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

  • Responsible for operational duties related to daily financial, personnel, administration, and clinical activities of the U54 Center.

  • Works with senior leadership in program design and development and implementing program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

  • Works with senior leadership to develop strategies to achieve program objectives and goals; sets priorities for management, budget, and fiscal activities to ensure efficient program operation.

  • Plans and implements administrative and operational activities of the U54; recommends changes to meet established goals and objectives.

  • Works with senior leadership to monitor and oversee all budget and budget-related activities; keeps abreast of budgetary activities and potential budgetary problems; presents quarterly reports on the budget.

  • Responsible for developing and formulating the annual budget, preparing budgetary documents and reports, and overseeing other budgetary data and program information.

  • Conducts pre-award activities related to procuring grants and other extramural awards.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal agencies’ policy statements and guidelines. NIH / NCRR / RCMI funding agency guidelines. Including IACUC , OMB , Conflict of Interest, Space, Effort Reporting, Labor distributions, Personnel action forms, etc.

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
