Google Strategic Financial Analyst in Austin, Texas

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

  • Experience in manipulating data sets using SQL or another programming/scripting language.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in financial modeling, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function.

  • Experience in spend management and budget planning cycles.

  • Exceptional communication skills, and experience regularly presenting to executive management.

  • Knowledge of the cloud/software industry, different roles, and incentives.

  • Ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, fast paced environment, and comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Excellent leadership and people skills, with the ability to set objectives and drive to results while building long-term relationships across organizational boundaries.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

The Cloud Product and Go-To-Market (GTM) Finance team ensures that Cloud Product and GTM organizations make sound financial decisions. We are an important partner and independent advisor to the Cloud product, commercial leaders, providing them financial, analytical, and strategic insight.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Own key deliverables of non-payroll operational expenditure and other cost of sales for Product and Go-to-Market teams.

  • Serve as a business partner to Strategy Operations teams to advise on investment recommendations.

  • Act as a trusted financial and strategic advisor to product General Managers and Vice Presidents. Be a financial thought leader looking holistically at product offerings, investments, and go-to-market initiatives to drive growth and profitability.

  • Develop and present business insights to Finance and Business leaders on spend performance.

  • Drive long range plan (LRP) and annual operating plan (AOP) process for the Product and Go-To-Market (GTM) for other cost of sales and non-payroll operational expenditure based on analytics and simulations. Play a critical role in setting the cloud 5 year plan and engage directly with Google Cloud executive leadership, consulting, or a related functions.
