About The Opportunity:

Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, designers, place-makers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients, both domestically and internationally.

Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term framework expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for Mechanical Engineering expertise with Building Services experience to join multi-disciplinary teams. We are seeking people who are looking to further develop their experience and responsibilities within the Building Services sector. We are delivering exciting and challenging projects across a broad range of sectors including transport infrastructure, defence, education, local authority, research and technology.

You’ll use your excellent project experience, technical and communication skills to work with Senior and Principal level Engineers to produce designs and associated deliverables for programmes that ensure Jacobs maintains the highest technical standards, levels of service and quality for our clients.

Key requirements for this role are good communication skills with a collaborative working and positive, can-do attitude. The ability to work as part of a project team will be essential and form part of your day-to-day work ethic. You will need to be able to work independently and take responsibility for decision-making and influence the delivery of your team.

Here’s what you’ll need :

• Qualification to Degree Standard in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience and knowledge

• MCIBSE accreditation or working towards

• Knowledge and experience of appropriate UK building regulations

• Sustainable technology integration knowledge and experience

• Experience of working within a Building Services engineering design consultancy practice - able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

• Working knowledge of AutoCad

• Revit MEP awareness and willingness to develop to BIM standards

• Experience of working with thermal modelling software

• An appreciation of quality assurance and business management

• Good verbal and written communication skills - able to work effectively with colleagues and with a professional approach to external clients

• Able to work effectively with colleagues and with a professional approach to external clients

• An enquiring approach with a desire to explore innovative ideas whilst still understanding the need for a good commercial balance

• Good report writing skills and MS Office experience
