AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber and Multinational Clients. AIG has an exciting opportunity for a Underwriter s to join our Energy and Engineered Risk Property Team focusing on property coverage for clients in the chemical and mining sector.

The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Underwrite, manage and service a profitable book of business,

  • Develop, manage and execute on a pipeline of new business opportunities

  • Manage existing and develop new producer and client relationships throughout the assigned territory.

  • Work alongside marketing department to effectively cross-sell the company's offerings.

  • Collaborate with technical specialist to identify and understand risk exposures

  • Negotiate policy terms and coverages so that coverage terms align with the company directives.

  • Utilize underwriter authority in accordance with our corporate risk appetite and strategy.

    The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in the Energy property insurance market.

  • Knowledge of the different types of energy occupancies and an understanding of their hazards

  • The ability to analyze business interruption worksheets

  • The ability to analyze broker manuscript wordings

  • An eagerness and willingness to learn and collaborate with their peers across the organization

  • The ability to underwrite a variety of property risks, design coverages as well as primary and excess layers and structures

    Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook necessary
