Description

Robert Half has an opportunity for you to join a thriving CPG company. This Financial Analyst position will require the candidate to execute financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. You will also be required to advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. This role via Robert Half provides an exciting opportunity to perform in a business partner capacity in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management with fellow colleagues. This Financial Analyst role, which is located in the City of Industry, California, is a permanent employment opportunity.
Your responsibilities in this role
Keep tabs on monthly and quarterly performance through the comparison of actuals versus expectations, ensuring that business partners handle their resources
Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives through the development of financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
Compile and monitor forecasting reports
Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is adept at managing expectations and comfortable with handling large amounts of information
Enable successful Business Intelligence (BI) to deliver valuable foresight and decision support
Support Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P& L forecasting
Look over performance to date while assessing potential opportunities and risks
Collaborate with the Accounting team on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

Requirements - Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus
Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Well-founded grasp of Analyze Variance
Quality experience with CPG
Comprehensive knowledge of budget forecasting
Earlier work involving SAP Crystal Reports
Expertise in Financial Forecast
Proficiency in forecasting
Proven knowledge of month end closings
Inventory forecasting experience
General familiarity with variance analysis
Practical knowledge of financial analysis
Wide ranging experience with Crystal Reports
Forecasting & modeling experience
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
