Summary Get ready to dive into the world of marketing magic! The Marketing Assistant works closely with the Marketing Director to create marketing campaigns, design media assets, and keep web and social platforms on trend. This position is responsible for maintaining internal ticketing systems, and communicating with managers and customers to create marketing promotions and strategies. Occasional unsociable duty hours (nights, weekends, etc.) required for special events. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Marketing Director, identifies relevant new strategies and technology to increase customers' engagement and to create brand exposure through any media forum(s). Maintains current knowledge on emerging marketing trends, and applies it into operations and activities. Responsible for maintaining and expanding marketing outreach on current and future platforms. Utilizes WordPress and other web platforms to maintain the 422 ABS website; include calendar entries, closures and other facility details. Assists the Marketing Director in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market. Makes recommendations to activity managers on appropriate media mixes and works with marketing POCs to coordinate scheduled cross marketing and/or event marketing material. Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in squadron activities considering the characteristics of the target audience and the media mix necessary to reach them. Maintains online channels, including but not limited to: all Facebook pages; Instagram, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Snapchat, blogs and e-newsletter platforms. Continuously explores, recommends, uses, and optimizes communication methods and technologies to engage with customer, and to maximize the squadron's branding, products and services. Assists in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research. Assists in administering surveys, collecting data, tabulating responses, and analyzing results. Provides support as needed for all special events. Assists with processes inside internal ticket system, giving public briefings, creates calendar entries, printing, payroll, and customer service…etc. as needed. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME): Must be proficient in grammar (both AP style and Tongue and Quill), spelling and minor design knowledge. Must have demonstrated specialized experience with Microsoft office and WordPress. Must have specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to design and layout advertising copy and artwork using Adobe CSS (to include at a minimum: Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop); minimum requirements of spell checking, changing a text box and text editing. Must have experience or education which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices, a Marketing related degree is desired but not required. Must demonstrate good customer service, strong communication skills and ability to work with little supervision. Position is subject to satisfactory completion of all required security checks. Must have knowledge of applicable Air Force policies. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
