Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Software Engineer position. The Software Engineer will provide technical support to a U.S. Space Force satellite constellation development contract. This position requires a talented FPGA Engineer that can work with a multi-disciplined team to undertake engineering tasks supporting all phases of the system lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, development, and test and evaluation. The FPGA Engineer will be required to assist the team by understanding a preselected FPGA capabilities and support the team in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A); Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulations; software development and integration; test and evaluation; and operations. This effort will entail support developing 2D and 3D detection & tracking algorithms utilizing space-based thermal imaging systems as well as providing physics-based modeling of end-to-end mission scenarios. The role will also support implementation of Monte Carlo controlled scenario-based analysis of the satellite design's ability to meet requirements. He/she will be required to understand a preselected FPGA, determine the computing requirements, conduct trade off analysis, and advise/support the algorithm performance on the FPGA.  

Required Skills:  

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field with 5+ years direct experience on DoD programs.

• US Citizen with a current DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

• Ability to work in dynamic environment.

• Excellent organizational skills.

   

Required Experience:  

• Proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: Object-Oriented Programming, Embedded Systems, FPGA Development, Cloud Software Development, MS&A, and HWIL simulations. 

• Development of hardware and firmware for microcontroller and FPGA based embedded systems.

• Understand the preselected FPGA architecture and microcontrollers firmware and interactions between the various modules comprising the system.

• Develop test bench and support simulation tools to verify correct functionality & performance.

• Understand schematics, performing lab tests on designs and components, troubleshooting and improving new and existing designs.

• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, and/or Python.

• Experience with the Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Experience creating and managing design and development documentation.

   

Desired Qualifications:  

• Experience with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

• Experience with MBSE and MS&A integration.

• Experience with satellite design and development programs
