Advantage Resourcing Analytical Engineer in Detroit, Michigan

Relocation Provided Send resume directly to derrick.young@advantagexpo.com Johnson Electric (JE) is excited to announce that we are now recruiting for an Analytical Engineer  for our Vandalia, OH location.  The person who fills this role will be responsible for driving mechatronic design and analysis, developing deep application expertise in the solenoid systems space, and delivering new technology.  Expected to make use of sound engineering and physics principles heavily based in analytical simulation tools including ANSYS Maxwell/Fluent. Responsibilities: Architectural (high-level) design of mechatronic systems for a multitude of application spaces including automotive, locking systems, material handling (automation), and medical devices. Analytical ownership including modeling in ANSYS and other packages involving magnetics, thermodynamics, flow, pressure, and electrical/electronic systems. Develops design of experiment to validate models and ensure designs will meet the customer performance requirements. Creates test plans for products or components with a solid understanding of reliability and failure mechanisms. Collaboration across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and commercial business teams.  Work with these teams for design reviews, meeting cost metrics, and brainstorming around customer pain points. Acts as a mentor for junior engineers in all disciplines including reviewing and approving work. Involved in customer interface to uncover both explicit and implicit needs and leads the activity to convert those needs into technology-based solutions. Develops a deep understanding of the industry and applies it to build forward thinking technologies that customers are desperate for but may not have even realized it.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE, ME, or similar) and 7+ years applicable industry experience or advanced engineering (EE, ME, or CSE) degree (PhD preferred) and 3+ years applicable industry experience. Advanced experience with electromagnetics and design for manufacturability in an electromechanical product. Advanced knowledge of electromagnetics application and theory and a good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering principles. Advanced ANSYS experience with finite-element analysis tools in the field of electromagnetics. Advanced analytical modeling experience with other tools in a wide array of physics disciplines. Experience in engaging with customers and developing technology tightly coupled to customer needs and pain points. Skilled in building working relationships with all levels of personnel both inside and outside the organization. Strong verbal and written communication skills specifically in technical report writing and communicating complex technical topics to all levels.
