Abbott Equipment Support Lead - Evening Shift in Donegal Town, Ireland

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

The main responsibility of the Equipment Support Lead is to manage a team of Operations Processors, ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products that meet customer needs whilst maintaining compliance. The successful candidate oversees and plans day today production activities, whilst ensuring that policies and procedures are current and being adhered to.

The key responsibilities in this role:

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement among direct reports.

  • Experienced and competent in programming and troubleshooting PLC control systems – Rockwell and Siemens.

  • Experienced and competent in programming and troubleshooting vision systems.

  • Experienced and competent in troubleshooting, fault finding and installing electrical control systems.

  • Hands on experience troubleshooting and repairing high volume manufacturing equipment.

  • Performing Planned and Unplanned Maintenance on Manufacturing Equipment.

  • Ensuring conformance with all relevant Policies and Procedures. Contributing to the creation of Work Instructions and Operations Procedures to maintain compliance.

  • Completion of Performance Excellence Assessments and Development Plans to promote excellence among direct reports.

  • Continuous Improvement. Contributing to Exception Reports that pertain to the Operations department.

  • Ensuring the department conducts its business in a manner designed to be protective of human health, safety, and the environment.

  • Coordinate and implement process and equipment projects.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management.

  • Knowledge of Pneumatics, sensor circuits, and Servo Motors.

Education and Experience required:

  • Third level qualification in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science or trade certificate in an Engineering discipline.

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar environment preferred.

  • Supervisory experience a distinct advantage

  • Knowledge of PLCs, Pneumatics, sensor circuits, and Servo Motors is advantageous.

  • This is a Mon - Fri evening shift role. Flexibility to work across other shift patterns a distinct advantage
