Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineering Technician in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. The hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm. The range for this position is $20 - $30 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support the Manufacturing Engineer by helping to drive continuous improvement in the electrical assembly operations. This position will assist in the conceptualization and execution of capital projects and the development of manufacturing methods and processes. The position will support operations, and capital assets (equipment, machinery, building, etc. Communication with all levels of the organization is expected.

Essential Functions

• Provide support to the manufacturing issues regarding assembly, fabrication, and testing areas.

• Perform as a liaison between different support functions.

• Assist in the determination of manufacturing methods, machinery, or capacity to produce parts.

• Evaluate and implement the operation of new and existing machinery, tooling, and other equipment.

• Provide support to Eaton Lean Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, MESH, and Pro Launch to achieve and maintain required levels of certification and performance.

• Generate, investigate, evaluate, and implement cost-improvement ideas and opportunities.

• Gather data, information, time studies, and general process knowledge to help determine the best utilization of equipment, facilities, material flow, and personnel.

• Contributes to the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment for the acquisition of assets to support developing and existing projects as required.

• Lead and provide training to production associates, technicians, and other staff (as needed) on SWIs, changeovers, and TPM’s

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of manufacturing or relevant experience

  • Proficient in using engineering and productivity tools (CAD software, Office suite, and AS400).

  • Basic understanding of electrical/electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Experience and knowledge of tools, common applications, and devices (hand tools, multimeters, measurement devices, etc.)

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, quality tools (e.g., Kaizen, time study, VSM, PFMEA, problem-solving tools), and safety management tools.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, understanding of basic CAD and drafting principles.

  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Skills:

  • Ability to develop and implement equipment standard work and TPMs.

  • Experience with power control systems.

  • Interpersonal skills to interact with employees, and manage vendors, contractors, etc.

  • Must be well-organized and can prioritize daily tasks.

  • Attention to detail to ensure all jobs are completed properly and look for potential hazards or warning signs.

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, including tooling, fixtures, and processes.

  • Effective problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with EHS practices, regulations, and procedures.
