Emerson Lab Engineer in Florham Park, New Jersey

If you are a recent Engineering graduate or an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Florham Park, New Jersey! We are a seeking a talented and motivated Lab Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Lab Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and testing of advanced technologies and products aimed at improving industrial processes and enhancing customer operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and analyze experiments, contributing to the continuous innovation and improvement of Discrete Automation's product portfolio.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Plan, set up, and conduct experiments in the laboratory to evaluate the performance and reliability of new and existing products.

  • Collaborate with R&D engineers and product managers to define test objectives, specifications, and methodologies.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.

  • Collect and analyze experimental data using statistical tools and software, generating comprehensive reports and recommendations.

  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing, proposing and implementing solutions to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Participate in product design reviews, providing valuable insights and recommendations based on laboratory findings.

  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, and results in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and standard processes in laboratory testing and instrumentation.

For this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related field).

  • 1+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment (academic or work) which includes hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and software tools.

  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical methods.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across functions and disciplines.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations is a plus.

  • Industrial or engineering sector experience is a plus.
