Thermal Testing Lab TechnicianIntertek is searching for a Thermal Testing Technician to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Fridley, MN office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Building & Construction product testing.The Thermal Testing Technician is responsible for Setting up test fixtures, installing samples into the test fixture, and running thermal tests on Windows and Doors. Other responsibilities include sampling of test specimen, calculating results and writing reports using Microsoft Excel software, and reviewing manufacturer's product drawings.What you'll do:Set up test apparatusOperate equipmentMaintain equipment and facilitiesPrepare test samplesMake recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standardsCommunicate with clients and managementPerform other work as requiredWhat it takes to be successful in this role:High School Diploma or GEDGeneral construction/carpentry knowledge and experience using power toolsExperience in carpentry; welding and fabrication is a plusUnderstanding of thermal dynamics desiredAbility to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructionsAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentAbility to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variablesPhysical ability to lift at least 50 poundsPhysical ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, etc. as required to perform job dutiesAbility to follow directions and work with minimal supervisionExcellent customer service skillsStrong communication skills - both written and oralGood computer skills using Word and Excel.Ability to travel as business needs dictateWhy work at Intertek?Intertek is a world leader in the $250 billion Quality Assurance market, with a proven, high-quality business model and a global network of customer-focused operations and highly engaged subject matter experts.
