Job Description:

Directs activities related to Center conferences and other Center initiatives. This includes working cooperatively with the College of Law’s conferences and events team to plan, coordinate, and implement conferences, and other Center events. In doing so, the incumbent will develop event processes, budgets, timetables, checklists, databases, and templates. The incumbent will also research potential event guests, draft invitations, coordinate logistics, communicate with guests, make travel arrangements, compile itineraries, and perform all other duties related to the efficient and effective operation of Center events and programs.

Promotes Center activities and initiatives to state, national, and international audiences through various mediums. This includes creating promotional materials for publication, identifying publicity opportunities for the Center, leveraging social media opportunities, and identifying new ways to promote the Center’s work.

Assists with the regular monitoring of grant opportunities relevant to Center initiatives and helps with grant applications, oversight, and monitoring. This includes developing processes for systematically identifying grant opportunities, collecting data, documents, and information necessary to complete grant applications and reports, and managing deadlines, budgets, and workflow.

Assists with Center fundraising initiatives and alumni development. This includes developing processes, databases, and programs for effectively managing fundraising and communication with Center alumni. This will require coordination with other College of Law members. It includes creating and distributing materials for fundraising and alumni relations.

Assists with basic legal research related to the Center’s initiatives. This includes reviewing and summarizing statutes, cases, and secondary material under the supervision of the Directors. It will also include basic legal analysis and synthesis.

Oversees and manages student researchers and volunteers engaged in Center work. This includes developing processes for monitoring and documenting student contributions, coordinating with the College of Law’s human resources team, and engaging with students regarding logistics, workflow, and record keeping.

The Center is growing and working to expand its impact and presence. All Center members are expected to perform other duties assigned in furtherance of the Center’s strategic goals.

Expected Salary:

$45,000 or commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
