We are looking for a Cost Accountant in our Finance’s organization reporting to the Director of Cost Accounting. This person will be in charge of our manufacturing/cost accounting functions. They will be responsible for all manufacturing finance accounting and reporting, audit compliance, process improvements, partnering with IS&T implementing FICO SAP R3, and driving the business results with the local management team.

Main Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Coordinate and manage the annual standard cost roll for the business group
  • Develop labor and overhead rates used in standard cost system
  • Partner with IS&T implementing FICO SAP R3 – CO primarily.
  • Create/Update new standards as requested
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end cost accounting close requirements to meet corporate deadlines
  • Maintain COGS SOX controls and audit compliance
  • Prepare monthly account balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare re-occurring and adjusting journal entries as part of the month end close process
  • Assist management with the annual budget process
  • Responsible for forecasting monthly and quarterly other cost of goods sold – manufacturing costs
  • Prepare cost accounting reports to monitor manufacturing expenses and inventory trends
  • Review and explain month end manufacturing variances between actual and standard costs with financial and operational management
  • Participate in various corporate projects requiring a financial evaluation

Technical Skills :

  • Higher (Professional) Education level
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written command of Italian and English
  • Systems oriented with solid ERP experience – SAP experience strongly preferred
  • US GAAP experience a plus
  • Organized, detail oriented individual with ability to multi-task, maintain accuracy of information, and meet deadlines with little supervision
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Results driven
  • Capable of working in a fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize deadlines
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Very strong user of Microsoft Excel
  • An ability to effectively work as part of a team
  • Works well with all levels of the organization
