What you’ll do:

At Eaton India Innovation Center, Electrical Sector Americas is looking for Technology specialist to join our Protection, Control & Solution group! This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. This position is for leading specific technical domain on 'Bussmann UL Division' a $400M size product line under the $1.2B Protection Control & Solutions Division of Electrical Sector Americas.

• Responsible for architectural concept definition, design, development for Fusible products/accessories & sub-systems. This includes contribution in product development by understanding product requirements, design & develop feature enhancements and implementation, laying out strategy for adding intelligence to Fusses & Fusible products taking it to POCs, Launches.

• Manage program requirements, convert them into executable tasks and guide the team to develop features, intelligent & proto.

• Lead a larger & Business priority project on Fuses & Fusible intelligence, review the electromechanical design, sensor selection, packaging, firmware content, prediction algorithms, oversee validation & Verification of outcome and lead certification with external labs

• Coach, guide and help develop the next line of lead engineers, Senior Engineers

• Work with Product engineering director, Chief & Principal engineer to formulate Technology Roadmap & Product Roadmap in sync with growth goals for Bussmann UL.

• Shape Focus area and build portfolio that matters. Define clear road map for next 3 - 5 years and execute action items to mitigate identified gaps. Leverage EIIC ecosystem for validation to accelerate time to market.

• Propose idea & projects aligned with Business strategy for various products considering competitor landscape working closely with Electrical Sector COE's and Digital organization.

• Represent Eaton in various external technical forum and lead internal technical special interest group on product intelligence.

As a successful incumbent you will have significant prior technical experience, would need to connect with team on technical aspects with excellent foundation on embedded systems & comm protocols. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and tasks while adapting quickly to changing priorities. You should be thriving in a growth-oriented organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s / Master’s in Electrical / Mechanical engineering or similar. Masters in embedded/Data science preferred.

• 12+ years of hands-on expertise electrical switchgear: Fuses (LV, MV), Fusible Switches, circuit breakers, LV switchgear, Panelboards

• Hands-on experience in developing electromechanical design, NPD, cost out ideas. Ability to direct 13+ cross team members including simulations, reliability, digital engineering & test labs.

Skills:

Experience in developing product intelligence, predictive algorithms & embedded systems.

• Should have knowledge in Embedded, Electronics systems, Communication Protocols, & its application to products like circuit breakers, trip units, Fusible & electrical Safety products.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with respect to written and oral communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts.

• Manufacturing knowledge for Sheetmetal, plastics, stamping, molding, machining, casting, & assembly processes and tooling. Good knowledge on materials - ferrous & non-ferrous metals, plastics.

• Strong Knowledge of UL & IEC, ANSI standards.

Excellent oral and written communications skills. A high degree of aptitude, creativity, and self-direction is required. Ability to work in global and virtual environment.

• On hands validation experiences & exposure in CPRI, ERDA, local & global Labs.

• Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for Hardware/Software procurement, building test lab setups etc.

• Strong background Design for Six Sigma GB / BB Certification.
