This position will be responsible for providing guidance, direction and leadership to the site\'s safety process and will report to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Implement, and maintain all corporate Safety and Health Programs.

Develop and/or maintain site\'s Safety Shared Folder

Maintain open lines of communication with the Corporate Safety Manager

Lead investigation of all incidents, near misses, first aid cases, recordable cases, lost day injuries, Job Safety Analysis and Safety Opportunities.

Assist the Fleet Safety Manager in the investigation of vehicular accidents.

track injury trends and develop action plans to address identified accident trends.

Keep the management team informed of any safety and health related issues and/or concerns, identified within your respective scope of responsibility.

Interact daily with the Employee Health Staff in a way that builds a team atmosphere within the safety and medical areas of the site.

Spend time being visible in the processing plant and outside grounds of the location (start of shift, mid-day, and evening shift on a rotation schedule.

Conduct documented periodic safety and health audits and track findings to ensure closure.

Provide the Corporate Safety Manager with a recap of events outlining the site\'s monthly safety performance and related opportunities.

Provide training support to the organization and ensure that all required monthly training is completed as scheduled.

Manage security force in a fashion that protects site employees, visitors contractors, and property assets.

Be the site\'s liaison when outside agencies come on-site to conduct annual assessments (i.e., insurance carrier, local fire department, OSHA, EPA, etc.

Generate, manage and monitor the safety departmental budget by evaluating ways of saving costs associated with training, travel, as well as personal protective equipment.

Be the site\'s liaison with the Property Insurance Company to provide closure to open recommendations in addition to working with the insurance company\'s representative when on site.

Attend and represent in weekly meetings involving U.S.D.A., PSM Emergency Planning and Response (EPR).

Attend and represent the safety department during orientation classes, using the Alchemy and Mastery Systems for proper record keeping. Give feedback to the Corporate Safety Manager of changes made and/or materials needed, to improve the well-being of newly hired team members during the on-boarding process.

BE a resource in identifying opportunities in the areas of environmental data tracking, system monitoring, clean up and the overall compliance of potential waste related conditions at the location.

Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrated ability in developing, implementing and leading health, safety, and environmental risk management programs

At least five years of experience in a corporate or business setting, preferably in human resources, personnel or administration.

The ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that motivates and inspires others to achieve business goals.

Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear communications.

Ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels.

Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.

Have the ability to prioritize projects with multiple contrib tors from initiation through completion on tight timelines.

Exhibit good time management and a track record for meeting fast-paced deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.

Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.

Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.

Must have strong professional and technical knowledge and ability to operationalize training best practices.

Must have Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills-Advanced
