Job Description
David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Division Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. If you are highly motivated and want to be a team player, we have an opportunity for you.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monthly analysis of financial statements.
Respond to questions/inquiries from Operations and Senior Management on a timely basis, providing a high level of support.
Using highly developed analytical skills and a team approach, participate in month end closing activities to produce timely and accurate financial statements.
Participate in the development and review of the Company’s Annual Operating Plan (Budget).
Assist the Financial Reporting team in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Prepare journal entries, run reports, perform inquiries, and complete general ledger reconciliations.
Communicate with managers regarding financial statements, budgets and variance analysis and coordinators regarding coding of payments.
Assist with special projects.
Requirements:
Four-year degree in Accounting required.
At least 3 years’ experience in the accounting field (preferably in financial analysis)
Proficiency in Excel a must and ability to pick up new things quickly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
JDEdwards and Essbase experience a plus but not required.
Comfortable working with operations and upper management; can adapt communication to be effective with many types of personalities.
Strong customer service and communication skills to interact with internal customers frequently.
Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, have strong analytical and collaborative skills, superior problem-solving abilities, thrive on communication and excel in customer service.
