WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER The Communications Specialist implements and manages focused communication plans and tactics that facilitate the comprehension, adoption, and advancement of TNC's goals and objectives in the private sector.The Communications Specialist implements and manages focused communication plans and tactics and delivers compelling, relevant, and timely communications to highlight the work of the Corporate Engagement team. They will manage a portfolio of marketing materials for Corporate Engagement and will research, write, and distribute written content, including blog posts, fact sheets, web pages, and social media copy as needed. They will assist in reputation management and will help draft key messages, talking points, and briefing documents for senior leadership.The Communications Specialist will work closely with communications colleagues across TNC and at partner organizations - including both corporate partners and coalitions of which TNC is a member - to manage opportunities to showcase the impact of TNC's work with companies. They will also liaise with and advise colleagues across the organization to ensure our communications with companies align with our internal guidance.As the Communications Specialist, you will: Manage and implement communication strategies and tactics. Lead creation and maintenance of Corporate Engagement's marketing materials. Serve as point of contact for internal questions related to TNC's approach to communications with corporate partners. Assist in identifying and pursuing opportunities at corporate sustainability events, such as GreenBiz, New York Climate Week, etc., and alongside like-minded organizations and coalitions. Manage and implement communications projects. Be responsible and accountable for meeting assigned project goals and objectives. Resolve issues independently within program area. Have the opportunity to act independently within program goals. May work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables. Create talking points, internal emails, blogs, virtual meetings or events and presentations. Act independently on assigned tasks and exercise independent judgement, manage adaptively, and work with supervisor to make decisions and problem solve. Coordinate with freelance writers, graphic designers, photographers, printers, and other vendors as needed to produce and write content. Does not supervise any staff but will coordinate with peers and internal stakeholders to accomplish tasks. Work acr ss a wide spectrum of constituencies and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Occasional travel required. Other related duties as assigned. If you don't have all of them, apply anyways and tell us about your skills and experience: Experience working with corporate sustainability communications and related technical topics. Demonstrated ability to conceive and write creatively for various audiences; prior sustainability writing experience preferred. Digital design experience, including working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign. Knowledge of current and evolving trends in the communications field, preferably in a non-profit environment. Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills. Experience drafting key messages, talking points, and briefing documents for senior leadership. Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences appreciated. Experience implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies. Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices. Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills. Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline. Experience leading or managing projects. Experience working with people across time zones to meet quick deadlines. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Bachelor's degree in related field and 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships. Experience writing, editing, and proofreading. Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects. SALARY INFORMATION The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $50,000 - 81,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
