Day Technical Services Engineer

Your role: Reporting to the maintenance teal leader, the Day Technical Service Engineer (DTSE) is required to work both within a team and at their own self-recognisance to a high standard, ensuring maximum manufacturing efficiency is achieved through preventative planned and corrective maintenance.

Day to day you will:

  • Maintaining high standards of employee, business partner and visitor health and safety, ensuring that all accidents are reported using the correct Company procedure and supporting all health and safety initiatives

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader to provide maintenance and corrective repair with a professional focus combined with technical skills, advice and support to the technical service department.

  • Work cohesively with the engineering and manufacturing management teams and /or associated maintenance and technical organisations as appropriate.

  • Exercise sound technical judgement either independently, or under the general direction of the Maintenance Team Leader is an essential part of this role

  • Provide predictive, preventative and corrective support and maintenance for production equipment.

  • Provides an assisting role in the maintenance and development of Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring that area and team standards meet Company, legal and ethical requirements.

  • Ensure that departmental quality standards are achieved and continually reviewed for improvement opportunities in all aspects of press performance.

  • Oversee and be responsible for the housekeeping of all production areas and manage a professional working area at all times

  • Assist in the development of safe working practices and continuous improvement in product quality

  • Undertake analysis of maintenance requirements, complete quality audits, and advise on all findings.

  • Preserve and promote at all times the Company’s good name and reputation, conducting internal and external relations with honesty and integrity and encourage the development of an appropriate culture that will deliver results and manage changes in line with Company and business areas objectives.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Previous experience of working within the newspaper manufacturing environments, equipment or processes is an advantage but not essential

  • Proficient in relevant technology systems

  • Must hold electrical or mechanical based recognised qualifications ideally City & Guilds Technicians LIII cert, HNC or HND
