The Headlines *:  *

In the role of Chemist working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin you will be part of the Brewing Innovation and Quality Team.  You will independently plan, design, execute and/or manage projects to develop and evaluate methods for complex analytical requirements applicable to raw materials, and to in-process and packaged product for beer and other beverage categories. You perform advanced chemical analyses, instrument maintenance and calibration, data validation and statistical data analyses. You apply expertise in methods, instrumentation, and data systems to resolve problems.

This position reports to the Quality Analytical Manager _ _ and works closely with Corporate Quality, Corporate Brewing,Product and Packaging Innovation and Breweries, providing technical expertise to support Quality and Brewing issues, process and product improvements and new product and package innovations.

The Responsibilities: _ _

  • Develops and implements sophisticated test methods and new technology for accurately measuring chemical properties of ingredients and existing and new products at the corporate and brewery level

  • Performs routine and advanced analyses using gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), high performance ion chromatography (HPIC), spectroscopy (infrared and ultraviolet), inductively coupled plasma analysis (ICP) and particle size analysis

  • Monitors, calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment

  • Provides expertise and support for Brewery Quality Labs and manages proficiency program

  • Develops and maintains analytical test methods and quality procedures and standards

  • Provides technical direction and training on advanced methods and instrumentation

*The Other Qualifications: *

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field OR equivalent experience (2+ years) in the field of laboratory experience

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of methods relevant to brewing and beverage industry.

  • Skilled in accurately performing analytical methods that have various levels of complexity.

  • Knowledge of laboratory and in-line equipment maintenance, calibration and validation.

  • Knowledge of analytical methods development, evaluation, troubleshooting and adaptation.

  • Knowledge of laboratory automation, data management and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to evaluate new technology and make recommendation for future equipment purchases.

  • Strong training and consulting skills.

  • Ability to independently perform complex tasks and design projects to advance lab capabilities.

  • Knowledge in brewing and beverage science and familiarity with ASBC and EBC methods.

  • Analytical thinking skills and attention to detail.

  • Communication skills, oral and written, for preparation of Molson Coors Test Methods, concise reports, and for presentations.
