Job Summary

Under the direction of an Environmental Services Supervisor ( ESS ) perform the duties as a lead worker by facilitating work performed by crew of custodians. Assist the Environmental Services Supervisor in developing custodial objectives and the tasks required to achieve them. Implement work plans under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor. Check work,

assist with training and instruction on the proper cleaning methods and safe operation of all equipment. Remove facility equipment from service, and make arrangements for equipment repair, order supplies, and perform assigned custodial tasks.

Hours for this position are 6:00am-2:30pm and may change in accordance with operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience using and maintaining custodial cleaning tools: carpet cleaners, auto scrubbers, all types of rotary scrubbers, washing machines

  • Ability to move furniture

  • Ability to stand/walk 8 hours per day

  • Lift 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds unassisted

  • Custodial supervision or leadership experience in an office or school setting

  • Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license (or other such valid operator’s permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/

  • Availability to be on-call for one full weekend every one to two months (generally scheduled in advance)

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years leadership or supervision in a school setting

    Target Salary Range $17.50 - $20.00 an hour (Candidate's base pay plus $1.50/hour)
