Fairview Health Services Cardiology Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a casual cardiology technician to join our team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank) !

The Cardiology Technician is responsible for providing diagnostic testing inpatients and outpatients. This includes 12-Lead ECGs, Holter, Event and BP monitor application. The Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, retrieval of supplies for/from different units, and retrieval/restocking of linen.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.01 FTE (8 hours every two weeks) day, evening or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Cardiology Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing ECG’s, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor.

  • Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients.

  • Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling.

  • Maintaining all testing equipment.

  • Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks.

  • Initiating service calls on equipment not working.

  • In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS).

  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • 0-2 years of EKG or patient care experience

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred

  • Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree

  • Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience

  • 2-4 years of EKG or patient care experience
