DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: S&T Research Chemist

Monroeville, PA

The SSG Process Development team is looking to add a research chemist to the dynamic group. The research chemist's principal responsibility is developing robust synthesis and purification methods for novel OLED emitters.

This role will report to the S&T Group Leader and will work onsite at our Monroeville, PA facility.

Responsibilities:  * Develop scalable processes for OLED emitters that are reproducible and cost effective through a thorough scientific approach.  * Independently design and conduct chemistry experiments using modern synthetic strategies  * Evaluate the synthesis for new emitters as they are identified. Provide samples using a commercially feasible synthetic strategy  * Advance technology used in the laboratory to improve process development understanding and reduce cycle times  * Analyze and interpret analytical results and make process changes as necessary  * Provide support for scale up of new products by technicians in both a kilo lab and plant setting  * Makes conceptual contributions to development activities and scientific strategies; introduces some new methodologies and solutions to overcome synthetic and manufacturing obstacles  * Contributes to reports and regular updates at appropriate project intervals while maintaining detailed laboratory records  * Works in a safe manner. Reads, understands and follows all pertinent SOPs

Requirements:  * Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or closely related field required  * Strong background in organic synthesis and process development is a plus  * revious industry experience preferred
