Your role

Media Solutions is looking for a dedicated Budgeting and internal reporting Senior analyst, responsible for developing revenue reports, analyzing and forecasting CBC and industry revenue trends. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue Reporting, the senior analyst will be a member of a growing Analytics function and will work at the intersection of technology, data and finance to support CBC sales teams across the country. The analyst will work to maintain current processes and reports while aiding in improvements.

Activity:

  • Participate in budget planning and revenue target setting process by coordinating with key stakeholders and conducting in-depth data analysis.

  • Assist in revenue forecasting and developing reports for use in various special projects.

  • Ensure data submissions and ingestion occur correctly and review weekly reports for errors and anomalies.

  • Ensure integrity of existing production systems through ongoing production system support.

  • Influence other members of the team, lead by example, and help with prioritization of tasks.

  • Assigns priorities or negotiates priorities with clients, based on assessment of tasks within support and maintenance plans.

  • Provide advice, guidance and analysis to Sales Managers and Finance Employees in the interpretation of various studies and in the development of forecasts.

  • Provides ongoing support and responding to issues of functionality, resolving problems through instruction on using the system and/or liaison with technical staff for the Sales data warehouse and the Power BI tool.

  • Support billing processes, and complete reconciliations.

  • Develop and maintain Cognos/PowerBI reports for internal and external users, as much as for the sales teams, financial and corporate needs.

  • Produces, explains and maintains Cognos//PowerBI systems, business processes and user needs documentation, training material and user guides.

  • Researches, analyzes and documents business requirements for new systems and/or enhancements/changes to existing ones of medium to high complexity, including the sales teams data warehouse and financial data using the Power BI tool.

  • Continues to support the report writing requirements for the Power BI tool.

  • Liaise with key stakeholders. Works closely with business process owners and users to maintain a detailed understanding of business processes, market standards and user needs and to liaise between technical staff and clients.

  • Some project support work will be required on as an needed basis leveraging the technical expertise and strong relationships this individual has with both sales and finance employees.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • University degree preferred in Business Administration, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science or related field.

  • Strong analytical background with understanding Sales systems to optimize data analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Word).

  • In-depth knowledge of Cognos Analytics and other programming languages ​​such as SQL to extract and manipulate data, an asset.

  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret large volumes of data for non-finance stakeholders in Sales and Marketing.

  • High attention to detail, independent and proactive.

  • Ability to independently solve problems and provide workable solutions to management.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers, partners and management, as well as translate non-technical business needs into technical requirements.

  • Ability to work with various systems simultaneously and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.

  • Strong interest in the continuous learning of new systems related to business processes.

  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects at different stages and with multiple priorities, never losing sight of the details.

  • Demonstrated initiative, creative problem solving techniques and ability to exercise good judgment when working with stakeholders and making decisions.

  • Desire to improve efficiencies and help drive sales through analysis and use of appropriate financial metrics

  • Fluency in English and French (both spoken and written), a strong asset.
