The SiteOps team is a dedicated group of skilled professionals responsible for effectively driving Incident Response for any production-impacting outages and continuously monitoring the alerts and issues that affect site health, performance, availability, and any deviation in overall site engagement. Incident Response is at the core of this team, functioning as the frontline responders to any production-impacting incidents, from troubleshooting and impact assessment to coordinating and engaging service owners for swift mitigation and resolution following effective communication with executives and leadership. The team adeptly facilitates triaging and mitigation of service-related issues, quickly resolving them per documented procedures, and leverages triage and mitigation tooling. The SiteOps team diligently works with service owners across engineering for continuous operational enhancements with a clear goal of achieving operational excellence by leading incident and change management lifecycles. The team constantly strives to improve operational efficiency by identifying and automating repetitive tasks and processes related to incident management by developing tools and establishing effective workflows.

Responsibilities• Exhibit expertise with over 4+ years of experience in incident management, monitoring, and observability practices, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of industry-standard methodologies and tools.• Proficiently communicate complex issues and incident response summaries to engineering leadership, executives, and external partners, ensuring consistent follow-up.• Develop processes and automation to ensure the quality of incident metadata, facilitating meaningful analysis and actionable insights from Incident trends and patterns.• Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to effectively guide and motivate SiteOps team members in the US and India, fostering a global environment focused on achieving goals and objectives and promoting a positive and collaborative workplace culture.• Collaborate closely with engineering managers and development teams to ensure operability considerations.• Directly manage SiteOps US team members, overseeing 12x7 shifts and serving as the SiteOps India team manager's reporting manager.• Conduct daily stand-up meetings attended by hundreds of engineers and leadership, focusing on Incident Management and change management updates and follow-ups.• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and teamwork capabilities, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including engineering managers, technical program managers, and product teams.• Acquire and disseminate deep knowledge of our complex applications.• Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in fast-paced, ever-changing environments, adept at managing challenging situations.

Basic Qualifications• B.S./B.A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline, or related practical experience• 4+ years experience in web operations, with 2+ years of people management experience• Experience in UNIX systems and programming with object-oriented languages, specializing in the development of automation tools for streamlining manual tasks and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications• Strong Communication Skills - effectively convey complex issues and incident response summaries to engineering leadership, executives, and external communication partners• 5+ years in web operations, with 3+ years in management, expertise in UNIX systems, and programming skills in various languages and development of automation tools for streamlining manual tasks and procedures • Pitch in with hands on help and code as needed to keep things running smoothly• Experience with troubleshoot and triage web-based Java/J2EE system issues • Basic understanding of computer science, with awareness of data structures, algorithms, and software design.• Experience running a team using an Agile approach to software development (for example, Scrum)

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $125,000 - $207,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
