Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Mainframe Systems Programmer within our NYC Financial Information Services team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • FISA-OPA has a vacancy for a z/OS Systems Programmer whose primary responsibility will include:
  • Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.
  • Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
  • The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
  • 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
  • Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
  • Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation.
  • Excellent communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
  • The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in relevant technical field is required.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At Voyatek, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current annual range is $77.00 to $87.00.
