Junior Research Scientist (Part-Time)

A part-time Junior Research Scientist position is available immediately in the Division of Biomaterials within the Department of Molecular Pathobiology at NYU College of Dentistry in the field of cytomics-on-a-chip research. The successful candidates will have deep expertise in the design, development, fabrication, and clinical testing of medical microdevice technologies including microfluidic devices as well as their use in cytology measurements for oncology applications. The successful candidate should have evidence of direct experience with microfluidic cartridge assembly, cellular assay optimization procedures and cellular image analysis routines.

The position offers competitive salary and exposure to a rich scientific environment at NYU and the New York City area.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $20.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualified applicants must possess an MS degree in Biomaterials, Bioengineering or related disciplines. The candidate should have at direct experience of working in a scientific/bioengineering laboratory with clinical research focus. Qualified candidates should have direct experience with fabrication of microfluidic devices.

Candidates should have strong organizational skills, good command of the English language, effective written and oral communication skills, and be able to provide evidence of research productivity. The applicants should have the ability to work independently, design and conduct experiments, and in collaborative research projects as part of the research team.
