Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in procurement consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications.What a typical day looks like:Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.Establishes goals for purchasing department.Follow-up policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.Manage and guide a team of buyers and expeditors to meet procurement and supplier management goalsInterface with procurement groups in updating and maintaining company procurement strategiesImplement processes with suppliers to improve on time delivery and Purchase Price VarianceHelping implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory modelsSupervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of parts and servicesApproves purchase orders and change notices through subordinates.Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.Ensures continuity of raw material supply to help production schedules and balances with achieving inventory level targets.Investigates inventory levels.
