UPMC Shadyside is seeking a flex/full-time Diagnostic Tech/Diagnostic Tech Adv to join the Consolidated Outpatient Team! This position will offer 3 12-hour shifts (5:30am - 6pm) or 4 10-hour shifts (between 5:30am - 6pm) No weekends, holidays or call responsibilities! Diagnostic Technologist starting rate: $24.73/hour.
Diagnostic Technologist Adv starting rate: $26.16/hour.
Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer .
Responsibilities:
Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.
Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
Diagnostic Tech Requirements:
Graduate of an approved ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified Diagnostic Technologist until the degree is verified.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date.
CPR or BLS required.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
ARRT Certificate.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Diagnostic Tech Adv Requirements:
Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
2 years Diagnostic experience required.
Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT certified in Radiography.
CPR or BLS Required.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
