As a core team member of Daikin Applied Technical Writing Center of Excellent (COE), this individual will have a primary responsibility to author technical documents for HVAC system controls. Technical content is developed through research and analysis of engineering documents and consultation with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization. This role requires a high level of technical aptitude and the ability to turn technical concepts into clear and concise documentation such as Service Bulletins, installation, maintenance and operating manuals, product catalogs, and other technical documentation as needed. A Day in the Life: Author and maintain a large volume of control operation manuals and other service documents. Work with controls engineers to develop detailed descriptions of the unit controls, including installation, interface, operation modes, operation sequence, controller input/outputs, communication, system status, alarms, and troubleshooting. Assist in proofing and editing technical publications of other writers for conformance to style and format. Determine illustration needs and recommend content to illustrators. Must be able to gather and assess technical documentation to create and update user documentation in compliance with engineering technical input, best practices, and department standards. Ability to translate highly technical concepts into understandable content for the end user.
