Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who will own the project development and delivery of the product backlog. The Development Manager will need to work closely with both the Software Development Team, Architecture team, and the Product Manager to gather requirements, prioritize, and coordinate timing on feature delivery. The ideal candidate will be technical, ambitious, organized, a great communicator both written and oral, and has experience in executing project development with Agile principles. Ideally, you've been a Engineering Manager for a product, have experience in SaaS offerings and are comfortable operating in an agile environment.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RES PONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintains development delivery ownership for large, complex product with touch points across multiple downstream applications.

  • Coordinates Project planning

  • Measure and analyze Project progress metrics

  • Communicate appropriately up and down the management chain.

  • Manage relationships with technology teams and product management.

  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing development teams with an overall experience of 14-15 years of experience.

  • Hands on experience with agile software development methodologies, object oriented analysis and design, and Cloud SaaS products build on the Microsoft stack

  • Experience forming and OnShore/OffShore Team including development processes, working in a matrixed organization.

  • Excellent mentoring, leadership, time management and project management skills.

  • Experience working in new product development setting under an Agile Methodology

Bonus Skills:

  • Healthcare background, AWS and Data Analytics skills

Responsibilities:

  • The Manager / Senior Manager of Product Development is responsible for the reliable delivery of software based products by establishing, managing and guiding teams of engineers.

  • Agile methodologies and continuous delivery techniques are used throughout.

  • Responsible for successful (on time, in scope, within budget) delivery of software projects.

  • Continually monitor and improve the Product Development organization, people, infrastructure, processes, and tools to deliver exceptional support.

  • Work closely with Product Management, Client Account Teams, Data Managers, Analytic Consultants, Technical Operations staff and other Development Managers to ensure successful delivery.

  • Continually monitor and improve the Product Development organization, people, infrastructure, processes, and tools to deliver exceptional support.

  • Work closely with Product Management, Client Experience Teams to ensure successful delivery.

  • Oversee the work of development teams located both onshore and offshore.

  • Maintains technical ownership for larger, more complex projects and/or a larger collection of projects.

  • Coordinates development planning across multiple projects, including release planning

  • Develops and maintains the project plan throughout the project development cycle and is ultimately responsible for on time/budget/scope delivery

  • Maintains accountability / sign-off for technical deliverables as well as significant technical decisions such as technology selection.

  • Communicate appropriately up and down the management chain.

  • Continually develops strategies for improving performance of the team.

  • Manage established relationships with technology and staffing vendors.

  • Responsible for technical personnel within the department including managing and developing team members to their highest potential performance level as well as department morale, development resources and tools, staffing actions (hiring and disciplinary) and compensation (promotions).

  • Oversees and drives the creation of feature and project estimates and timelines in accordance with established agile practice.

  • Contributes to development and implementation of product, platform and technology strategies.
