What Is the Opportunity?

Works with the Shared Services Team Leader to: Provide Underwriting with information to enable the delivery of New Business and Renewal terms for all Business Lines (where applicable). Deliver back office service to Brokers and Insured's around policy fulfilment and service enquiries (including Mid Term Adjustments). Input underwriting and account data to the various systems supporting the Business Units. Resolve problems for and provide superior service to internal and external customers in line with Operations and Business areas service standards. Support Underwriting in the execution of their Business Plans by providing efficient operational support.

Job Summary:

  • The Associate plays an important role in helping to deliver and maintain Europe Operations production services in support of our Travelers Europe’s strategic goals.

  • This role helps to provide comprehensive administrative support to facilitate underwriting processes, delivering new business quotes, renewal terms, and endorsements across all lines of business.

  • This role involves maintaining standard operating procedures, supporting training as qualified, engaging in operational and regulatory reporting, resolving customer inquiries, and contributing to operational change initiatives.

Job Description:

1. Underwriting Lifecycle Support:

  • Thoroughly review all in-scope submissions and processes these in line with agreed service levels.

  • Execute tasks related to the underwriting lifecycle, including submissions analysis, new business and renewal quote preparation, non-renewals, technical accounting, document issuance, endorsements (financial and non-financial) and cancellations.

  • Manage account documentation, including quotations, actuarial pricing models, reinsurance contracts, endorsements, and cancellations.

2. Data, Records and Document Management:

  • Ensure in-scope underwriting submissions are stored and indexed, within service levels.

  • Complete accurate and timely policy data entry, as required.

  • Perform data cleansing and input additional risk information, ensuring accuracy in data quality, as required.

  • Liaise with underwriters and brokers to process underwriting premium corrections efficiently, as required.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Support all regulatory compliance (e.g., treating customers fairly) as instructed and adhere with Travelers Enterprise values and policies.

4. Standard Operating Procedures and Training:

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures in the agreed format.

  • Provide training, as required, once qualified to support Europe Operations (both onshore and offshore) and other TRV Europe business functions, as

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across Europe Operations and other key stakeholders.

  • Customer-centric approach with a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to support change.

  • Highly motivated, capable of independent work and comfortable in a collaborative working environment.

  • Detail-focused with a high degree of accuracy in work.

  • IT literate with a solid proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferable:

  • Familiarity with market leading core underwriting and support applications, subject to past work experience.

  • Previous experience in the commercial insurance (business insurance / B2B) products and services.

  • Willing to or has started to study professional insurance qualifications.
