Human Resources Administrator

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Administrator to maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases. Must be available to work in the office 40 hours/week.

Pay: Competitive / hourly

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Provides support to employees and the management team.

  • Establishes and maintains compliance of Medical, DOT, Driver Certification Portal, Training, Personnel, Workers Compensation, and Incident files.

  • Reviews benefits, rate changes, deductions, and reimbursements.

  • Responsible for recruiting and assisting applicants through the application/onboarding process.

  • Responsible for completing I-9 verifications upon first day of work for new hires.

  • Maintain and assist in the development of job descriptions/requirements

  • Maintains badging compliance required by clients and ULCS corporate office.

  • Process annual reviews, background screenings and Motor Vehicle Reports

  • Benefit Management that will include but will not be limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, COBRA, Workers Compensation, Sun Life Short-Term Disability/Long-Term Disability/ Salary Continuation, Transamerica 401K, Leave of Absences, FMLA, Vacation/Sick Time/PTO

  • Corresponds with the Corporate office regarding the information needed for unemployment hearings.

  • Manage the enrollment for the Apprenticeship Program.

  • All other duties as assigned by Regional Office Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Manages time effectively and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to effectively communicate.

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good customer service and conflict resolution skills.

  • Excellent Adobe, Microsoft office, and Outlook skills.

  • Familiar with I-9 verifications and hiring standards.

  • Capable of creating and understanding complex spreadsheets, mail merges, and pivot tables.

  • Has working knowledge of human resource basics.

  • Commitment to teamwork through relationship building, reliability and collaboration.

  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks.

Education & Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources or Safety required.

Pre-Screen

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • Driver License preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must have transportation to and from the show-up location.

Physical Requirements:

  • RARE (less than 10%): body twisting, squatting, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing Poles, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, sense of touch, seeing distant, climbing on/off truck, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reaching, range of motion, pushing, pulling balancing, lifting over 50 lbs.

  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): standing, walking, manual dexterity, lifting, depth perception, carrying, pulling, climbing ladders, color vision, carrying, lifting up to 10 lbs.

  • FREQUENT (up to 66%):

  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): sense of touch, gripping, seeing, sitting, speaking reading, clearly hearing-speech range

Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
