Position: Interim Benefits Specialist (Contract)

Duration: Estimated 3-4 Months

Location: Ability to go into San Fransico a few times over the length of the engagement, otherwise remote

Robert Half is supporting a Client in San Francisco, CA who is seeking an interim Benefits Specialist to help the Human Resource team for a few months. As a key supporting member of the team, you will be the main point of contact for general benefits inquires, including leave of absence management, benefits eligibility questions and enrollment, and compliance with local labor laws.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Leave of Absence process in-house, including initiating leaves, tracking leaves, and assisting employees with questions

• Serve as the point of contact for all benefits-related questions

• Ensure benefits information is integrated correctly with Workday

• Notify managers of employees going out on leave and returning to work

• Ensure compliance with ADA and work with any employees requesting accommodations

• Assist with Employee Wellness Events and initiatives as needed

• Apply knowledge of California Labor and Leaves of Absence laws and eligibility

• Advise on LOA policy and best practices, serving as the subject matter expert for US employees

• Handle the return to work process efficiently

• Coordinate new employee orientation and handle terminations when necessary

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, specifically concentrated in handling benefits related duties

• Proficient in benefits coordination and ability to answer employee benefit questions

• Knowledgeable in HR Compliance and Labor Law

• Experience handling Insurance (Disability) and Disability Benefits

• Able to develop and implement Policies & Procedures related to employee benefits

• Experience in managing New Employee Orientation

• Familiarity with handling terminations and Leave of Absence

• Demonstrable knowledge in Employee Benefit Plan

• Strong understanding of Benefit Functions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and analytical

• Proficiency in using HR management software and tools

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
