Nordstrom Assistant Assortment Planner, Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) - Women's Vertical (Hybrid, WA) in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week in order to be considered for this position.

As an Assistant Assortment Planner on the Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) team, you will support Associate Assortment Planners in meeting and exceeding departmental sales, margin and turn targets. Assortment Planners create actionable, customer-centric supplier plans through a detailed understanding of product and customer needs. They partner with the Buyer to achieve financial objectives, and they collaborate with cross functional partners to drive departmental strategies.

A day in the life…

  • Establish a clear understanding of the seasonal merchandise strategy

  • Partner with assistant buyer on market preparation

  • Contributes to the management of content and balance of the department's inventory through an understanding of product and customer needs

  • Execute the buy through optimally distributing product to maximize regular price sell-through

  • Drive size profiling and optimization

  • Contribute to inventory management in season, including driving creation and allocation of re-orders

  • Drive management of key items in season

  • Be a student of the business regarding effective analysis and decision making to improve department performance

  • Partner with assistant buyer to improve the depth and precision of location-level inventory content

  • Participate in business reviews to develop greater understanding of how specific actions impact overall department results

You own this if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or related field preferred

  • Experience in retail merchandise planning or analysis, required

  • Experience supporting a high-sales volume category (high SKU count, heavy seasonality, high revenue ($20M+)), preferred

  • Experience in a relevant merchandise category, preferred

  • Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom, required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, required

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $69,500 - $132,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
