Amazon Sr Financial Analyst, WW Selling Partner Services in Seattle, Washington

The Selling Partner Services (SPS) team operates the business, technology and seller services that make Amazon the best place on Earth for 3rd party sellers to start and grow a global business. Today, the vast majority of those sellers choose to do so trusting Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to fully manage their selection from the factory floor to the customer door, allowing sellers to leverage the power of Amazon’s global fulfillment network.

Our mission in WW FBA is to enable the long-term success of our sellers by building best-in-class processes and tools that make FBA the simplest, most reliable and profitable channel for our sellers. Our store has enabled sellers of all sizes and origins to compete in an evolving global market, and today WW sellers serve tens of millions of items to customers globally.

We are looking for a Sr Financial Analyst to lead the FP&A space for 3rd party sellers fees charged to both sell on Amazon and fulfill products by Amazon. In this role you will partner closely with fee strategy business and finance teams, controllership, and corporate finance to plan fees, ensure they are correctly charged, and summarize the financial storyline. The successful candidate will have a controllership mindset, focused on improving mechanisms and have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the core financial processes for 3rd party fees including annual operating plans, 3-year strategic plan, long range plan and Monthly/Quarterly business reviews

  • Generate insights from financial data, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and communicate findings with the leadership team to drive business actions

  • Build and maintain in depth knowledge of 3rd party fee related initiatives, challenges and opportunities across the business

  • Support controllership function through periodic fee audits and monthly ad-hoc analysis

  • Stretch projects to include partnership with fee strategy team to support fee changes

  • Influence successfully at all levels, think strategically, is a talented finance analyst and a strong organizer, takes initiative, and operates effectively across many teams.

A day in the life

As the Sr Financial Analyst, you will work closely with multiple business teams including fee strategy teams, controllership, WW FBA leadership, corporate finance and fee program teams. You will be responsible for leading complex financial analysis by engaging cross functional teams and help leadership in shaping future decisions and policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

  • CPA, or MBA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
