Regions Hospital Medical Billing Specialist in St. Paul, Minnesota

Regions Hospital's Patient Accounting team has an opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist! The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, correcting, and updating insurance claims for submission to payers, correcting and updating patient demographic information, and documenting account notes in the electronic medical record (Epic). The Medical Billing Specialist is also responsible for resolving patient and insurance billing issues and following up on accounts to resolve unpaid and denied claims. This position is eligible to work partially remotely following onsite training in Saint Paul, MN. This is not a fully remote position. Employees must reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota, and have a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work free from interruptions. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of hospital or clinic medical office experience or a combination of post-secondary education and work experience to equal four years. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital UB and professional 1500 claim processing, and up to date knowledge of hospital billing regulations and comprehension of industry standards. Reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota, and have a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work free from interruptions. Preferred Qualifications: Previous hospital medical billing experience strongly preferred. Epic experience. Additional Information: This is a union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift weekday position working in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $21.00-$31.52 per hour, based on experience and internal equity. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and eligible for benefits.
