Regions Hospital Registered Nurse- Emergency Department in St. Paul, Minnesota

Exciting opportunity for new graduate nurses to begin your career in the Emergency Department! This cohort will start July 22nd, 2024. This ED Nurse new grad Residency Program was developed to help highly motivated nurses with limited ED experience to be supported on your journey from Novice ED Nurse to Proficient ED Nurse. The new grad Residency is a 6-month program with focused, planned education including classroom, hands on skills training, simulation experiences, clinical orientation with a preceptors in the ED and ICU, shadowing with an RT, critical case presentations, medication reviews, resiliency training and much more! This learning will be reinforced as you work clinically with your preceptors at the bedside on each of the care pods. You will gain experience and learn skills to become an advanced beginner in emergency nursing in a supported and nurturing environment. Required Qualifications: Associate's, Bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing (May 2024 new grad or earlier) MN RN licensure by time of hire/start date. BLS certification required at time of application. Preferred Qualifications: ACLS Certification preferred by time of hire/start date or to be completed during orientation. Preferred: NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS certifications (or to be completed during orientation) Nursing student Capstone in Emergency Department or ICU or Critical Care, or ED Experience (ERT/PCA/CNA from an ED), or EMT/Medic with field experience is preferred, but not required. Those hired into these positions will need to commit to working 8-hour shifts in a .5-.8 FTE on either the 5 PM-1:30 AM or 11 PM-7:30 AM shift during the residency program (6-8 months).
