JBT Corporation Technical Documentation Manager in Sweden, United States

Overview Manager of Technical Documentation is needed for our EMEA Technical Documentation team! Responsibilities As our new Manager for Technical Documentation, you will lead our team of three technical writers. This is mostly an operative/transactional position where management of the team takes up approximately 20% of your time. As a manager you will own the total technical documentation production flow from order fulfilment to filing and dispatch. You will ensure that all necessary technical documentation is produced to deadline and in order, and that the documentation produced fulfils the needs of the customer, and that it is compliant with both internal and external dictated terms (such as CE). You will maintain and improve processes and systems being active in improving and developing the technical documentation, in terms of instructional and technical content. Qualifications To be successful it is essential that you know how to effectively convey equipment data into information which can be easily understood and digested by customers, where English might not be their first language. You require effective communication skills and a natural ability to lead a team. We like our Managers to consistently develop themselves, and we believe that having a can-do attitude, and being proactive will really help in this role, as you collaborate naturally with colleagues in other departments whilst taking on the responsibility as the Technical Writers teams' manager. If you have worked with teams both locally and international, our role will appeal to you and if you are used to change, then you will really enjoy our ever-evolving dynamic environment! Excellent English language skills and a strong interest in communication processes are a necessity plus a good understanding of software such as Adobe Creative Suite, XML, Excel, and HTML is important. This role will require experience working with machinery and safety information in your previous positions and we would like to see ideally 5 years’ experience from within a similar role where you have also lead a team. We hope to see that you hold a degree within Technical Writing or another technical field.
