About the Role

There are various Infrastructure Operations teams which are the backbone of AWS and supports our rapidly growing AWS business and customers. As AWS grows, we strive to grow our own talent. You will receive on-the-job training and gain cross-functional, transferable skills. This is a unique, entry-level opportunity where you will have the support to grow as an infrastructure technician and progress through the different skillsets of decommissioning, installation and operations. You will receive comprehensive training and work with talented colleagues in some of the most innovative data centers in the world.

Key job responsibilities

• Adhere to safety and security best practices in the data center

• Utilize a web ticketing system and other dedicated tools

• Create reports and documenting procedures

• Support and build relationships with various data center teams

Your job duties may include:

• Repair server/storage systems

• Remove and destroy media

• Install, repair or disconnect network links

• Decommission and process legacy hardware out of the data center facilities

• Install server/storage/network racks into data center facilities

• Safely and securely manage and dispose of E-waste

• Travel between different Tokyo areas to work at various data centers

• Perform maintenance tasks on work equipment

• Work in shifts as data centers are online 24x7

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Tokyo, 13, JPN

Basic Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma

• STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education

• Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required

• Work 10 hour shifts as needed

• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems
