Group Summary

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

About the Role

This position reports directly to the APQP Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of T.E.A.M. Systems as described below:

Your Responsibilities

• Manage all program costs related to service and packaging to budget. Prepare and issue complete request for quote packages to potential suppliers and complete a competitive analysis prior to awarding business.

• Maintain program information sheets, service B.O.M., Engineering change tracking, and APQP documentation.

• Lead and participate in team activities as required for the successful execution of required action plans for the launch of assigned programs.

• Participate in and present information/data as required at customer-initiated meetings.

• Define customer needs and expectations for all packaging & service. Establish customer milestones from design to production.

• Ensure packaging meets all customer and TEAM Systems requirements for synchronous manufacturing, ergonomics, environmental and safety standards.

• Create and maintain a timeline that details all phases of prototype and production packaging, including customer and TEAM Systems milestones.

• Maintain an up-to-date open issue tracking report. Identify all action items requiring completion to successfully meet deadlines and assign follow-up responsibilities.

• Participate in a cross-functional team for source selection after analysis of potential suppliers has been completed.

• Provide cost and timing as required for all changes to TEAM Systems or customer packaging and/or service program.

• Communicate status of projects to Program Teams during APQP Meetings.

• Conduct all packaging trials in accordance with customer guidelines.

• Maintain all customer specific packaging information and approval forms.

• Work with the customer and develop a complete analysis of the packaging standards required to deliver a quality part to our customer’s point of usage.

• Approve all tier II assembly components packaging by verifying that a defect free component has been delivered.

• Work with Molding Dept to design and manage internal molding WIP packaging to ensure maximum density and part quality

• Responsible for all service and backup packaging required to support customer requirements

• Responsible to maintain maintenance budget as it pertains to returnable packaging fleets

• Work with internal TEAM System manufacturing and materials teams to eliminate handling damage associated with packaging or racking issues.

• Work with internal TEAM System cross functional departments to ensure facility readiness to support service programs through APQP process.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your preferred qualifications

Related Work Experience

• Minimum five years’ experience in related field.

• Program Management experience is preferred.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging or Engineering required.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while sitting, standing, or walking a minimum of six (6) hours a day and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be capable of performing repetitive motion for two (2) to four (4) hours a day. Ability to climb stairs is necessary.
