Scope of Job We are seeking a talented and motivated Applications Engineer with experience in machine vision, strong project management skills, who can assemble and validate system solutions using camera hardware and software. In this role, you will be responsible for managing lab infrastructure, evaluating prototypes, and guiding internal teams to ensure successful integration of our machine vision solutions with our customers. You will play a critical role in supporting our customers in implementing and optimizing our solutions to meet their specific needs and objectives. You will work closely with our sales, engineering, and product development teams to deliver exceptional technical support and guidance throughout the entire customer lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and manage projects from initiation to completion.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.

  • Research component selection – such as image sensor, lens, and lighting – to recommend suitable solutions for specific customer applications.

  • Conduct prototype testing and analysis to ensure compliance with performance requirements and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to meet customer needs and drive project success.

  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.

  • Provide technical guidance to customers when integrating our machine vision solutions to ensure optimal performance of the camera system hardware and software.

  • Provide feedback to the product development team based on customer interactions and market trends.

  • Stay current with the latest developments in machine vision, image science, image sensors, cameras, and optics technologies.

    Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.

  • Prior experience working in a customer-facing role, such as field applications engineering or technical sales.

  • Background in machine vision and image processing.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB or similar.

  • Experience with Git and GitHub.

  • Ability to compile software for *nix, macOS and/or Windows operating systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

  • Preferred:

  • Two to five years of industry experience.

  • Knowledge of industry-specific applications of machine vision, such as quality control, inspection, and industrial automation.

  • Experience in assessing image sensor, camera, and optics quality, including knowledge of key parameters and evaluation techniques.

  • Experience with popular machine vision libraries and frameworks, such as OpenCV, HALCON, and Matrox Imaging Library (MIL).

  • Proficient with point cloud data and visualization software such as Cloud Compare, Foxglove or similar.

  • Comfortable programming in C/C++.

  • Experience with embedded systems development and hardware-accelerated computing platforms (e.g., GPUs, FPGAs). Familiar with CAD-related tools and files.

    Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Image Science, or related field.
