Thrivent Financial Manager of Intelligent Automation in United States

The Manager of Intelligent Automation leads the Intelligent Automation team with a focus on strategic oversight, operational management, and technological innovation. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions across the enterprise. The manager will lead experienced specialists and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Leads the IA Team, aligning tactical direction with strategic direction and ensuring the alignment with organizational goals.

  • Manages budgets, schedules, and performance standards, maintaining alignment with departmental initiatives and objectives.

  • Collaborates with IT management and business leaders to establish and scale Robotic Process Automation (RPA) capabilities.

  • Influences senior-level business partners and key stakeholders on technological decisions and strategic direction.

    Technology and Innovation:

  • Reviews and consults on the architecture of intelligent automation solutions, ensuring they are scalable and integrate emerging technologies like OCR, Machine Learning, NLP, and AI.

  • Manages the adoption of new technologies within the organization, acting as a technology evangelist.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

    Operational Management:

  • Manages the automation development lifecycle to meet business needs while ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture, legal, and security standards.

  • Accountable for the performance and outcomes of the IA Team, facilitating the removal of roadblocks and fostering an environment of innovation.

  • Oversees the development and implementation of enterprise-wide automation solutions, ensuring effective and efficient delivery.

    Team Development and Collaboration:

  • Builds and maintains a high-performing team by managing, developing, coaching, and recognizing team members.

  • Encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

  • Engages with product managers to align on initiatives, features, and technical outcomes.

    Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborates on the management of external partners and vendor relationships.

  • Collaborates across teams and departments to ensure integrated strategies and cohesive outcomes.

  • Advocates and supports the team in making informed decisions on technology platforms and vendor selections.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 8 years in technology with progressive management experience, including leading teams in implementing RPA or similar automation technologies.

  • Strong project management skills and experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experience in enterprise architecture and continuous improvement practices.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage technology initiatives within a large organization.
